Tyre, June 9, 2026

Following an evacuation call by the Israeli army to the entire city of Tyre in southern Lebanon, at least nine people were killed and 27 others wounded in airstrikes.

The strikes hit the coastal city of Tyre in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to Lebanon's civil defense. The news agency NNA reported that hostile warplanes had launched a heavy attack on Tyre: "Hostile warplanes launched a heavy attack on Tyre." According to civil defense sources, nine people were killed and 27 others were injured.

It is notable that this time the army had called for the evacuation not only of individual neighborhoods, but of the entire city of Tyre, including the Christian quarter. In the days before, numerous people had sought refuge in the city's Christian quarters, as they considered these comparatively safe. The army called on residents to leave the Christian quarters in Tyre as well.
