The Bodenseekreis district has decided that the insolvent Medizin Campus Bodensee, including Friedrichshafen Hospital, will be taken over by the Swiss AMEOS group.

The Left Party is demanding a Plan B from the state in case the hospitals revert to the Salzlandkreis district. AMEOS already operates over 30 healthcare facilities in Germany.

In Warendorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, AMEOS took over the insolvent Josephs-Hospital with around 950 employees. There were allegations of worsened working conditions there.

According to a WDR report from March, many employees signed new contracts with poorer conditions, and some were allegedly pressured. AMEOS denies this.

The works council in Warendorf filed two lawsuits against AMEOS, both of which were unsuccessful. AMEOS emphasizes that existing contracts remain unchanged after a takeover.
