The Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency received 13,067 consultation requests last year from people who felt discriminated against because of their skin color, religion, gender, age, or other characteristics - 15 percent more than the previous year.

The Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency received 13,067 consultation requests last year from people who felt discriminated against because of their skin color, religion, gender, age, or other characteristics. This was 15 percent more than the previous year, as the agency announced. In total, the agency received inquiries about discrimination in almost all areas of life.

Focus Areas of Consultation

By far the most frequent category was discrimination due to a disability or chronic illness: 3,015 inquiries related to this, accounting for 27 percent of all consultations. In second place was racist discrimination with 4,571 inquiries. Gender-based discrimination followed with 2,407 cases (around 22 percent). Age discrimination accounted for twelve percent of inquiries, and discrimination due to religion or worldview for seven percent.
