The Berlin House of Representatives debated the catalog of responsibilities on Thursday as the last important foundation of the comprehensive administrative reform, while Governing Mayor Kai Wegner praised the project as a significant step for the city.

The catalog of responsibilities systematically defines which tasks will be handled by the districts and which by the state of Berlin in the future. According to parliamentary sources, it comprises 2,421 tasks in 31 policy and cross-sectional areas, thus forming the core of the reorganization that has been prepared for months.
