Berlin, Munich, and the Rhein-Ruhr region with Cologne have submitted their final bid concepts for potential Olympic and Paralympic Games to the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) on time.

The German Olympic Sports Confederation confirmed the timely receipt of the documents from the three remaining applicant regions. According to the DOSB, the concepts from Berlin, KölnRheinRuhr, and Munich meet all the requirements of the first two selection stages. This means all three candidates have cleared the hurdle and can hope for nomination for the international selection process.

The national competition is for hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the years 2036, 2040, or 2044. In the first two stages of the DOSB selection process, the bid concepts had to demonstrate their feasibility in terms of sports, infrastructure, and societal impact.
