Consumers in the Eurozone do not expect any easing of inflation in the foreseeable future due to the Iran war and rising energy prices, according to a survey by the European Central Bank published on Monday.

In April, consumers expected an inflation rate of 4.0 percent for the coming twelve months, as shown by the monthly ECB survey. This figure remained unchanged compared to the previous survey.

The ECB stated that uncertainty regarding inflation expectations for the next 12 months remained unchanged at a high level. It stated verbatim: "The uncertainty regarding inflation expectations for the next 12 months remained unchanged at a high level."

For the medium term of three years, consumers expect an average inflation rate of 2.9 percent. In March, this figure was still 3.0 percent, which represents only a slight decrease.
