1. FC Saarbrücken won the German table tennis championship on Sunday, beating record titleholders Borussia Düsseldorf 3-1 in the inaugural Final4 tournament in Frankfurt to complete a historic triple of Champions League, TTBL Cup and Bundesliga titles in a single season.

Fan's decisive double

The final was decided by Chinese superstar Fan Zhendong, the Olympic champion and former long-time world number one. The 29-year-old opened the tie with a 3-1 victory over German national player Dang Qiu, who is ranked 10th in the world.

Düsseldorf's US professional Kanak Jha levelled the score at 1-1 by surprisingly defeating Slovenian Darko Jorgic 3-0. Jorgic was playing his last match for Saarbrücken after seven years with the club.
