France's competition and anti-fraud authority DGCCRF has imposed a fine of 35 million euros on Nintendo of Europe because the company allegedly did not transparently inform consumers about defects in Joy-Con controllers of the first Switch generation.
The Paris-based authority DGCCRF announced on the day of publication that Nintendo of Europe had accepted a corresponding settlement in order to end the investigation into misleading business practices. The DGCCRF considers the company's conduct to constitute misleading business practices. "Upon completion of an investigation, the DGCCRF concluded that Nintendo had not sufficiently informed consumers about the problem," the authority stated, according to Yahoo Tech.
