Austria's national ice hockey team will face off in Group A at the 2027 World Championship, which also includes host Germany, world champions Finland, and vice-world champions Switzerland.

The group draw for the 2027 Ice Hockey Home World Championship was held on Monday by world governing body IIHF together with host Germany. The tournament will be played from 14 to 30 May 2027. The schedule for the 2027 World Championship will be announced at a later date.

In addition to Austria and Germany, Group A includes the two finalists of the last World Championship, world champions Finland and vice-world champions Switzerland, as well as Sweden, Latvia, Slovenia, and promoted team Ukraine. The German team will play its preliminary round matches in Mannheim, with the ÖEHV squad also based in Mannheim.
