Iran's national football team is heading into the World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States without a dress rehearsal, after a friendly against Grenada in Tijuana was canceled.

Second Cancellation in a Short Time

The Iranian national football team will begin its World Cup campaign in Mexico, Canada, and the United States without the planned dress rehearsal. The friendly against Grenada in Tijuana, apparently scheduled for Thursday, has been canceled. The island nation's team cited insufficient preparation as the reason for its withdrawal, according to the Iranian news agency INSA.

This is already the second Iranian friendly that has been called off. Previously, the match against Puerto Rico was dropped from the schedule. In earlier plans, the team was supposed to face Puerto Rico in the United States. That match was scrapped after the training camp was relocated from the United States to Mexico.
