Tijuana, June 9, 2026
The Iranian national football team landed in Tijuana on Tuesday wearing gold pins with the number "168" on their suit jackets, commemorating the victims of a bombing attack on a girls' school in southern Iran, while 15 federation officials continue to have no visa for entry into the USA.
As the players and officials of the Iranian national football team stepped off the plane in Tijuana on Tuesday, they wore conspicuous gold pins with the number "168" on their suit jackets. These referred to the 168 people who were killed in a bombing attack on a girls' school in southern Iran on February 28. The Iranian Embassy in Hungary had established the connection between the pins and the school attack in a post on the X platform.
