Melsungen, 08 June 2026
Handball Bundesliga club MT Melsungen has signed Jaron Siewert, the championship architect of Füchse Berlin, as head coach and has signed a contract until 2030.
The 32-year-old Jaron Siewert will move to MT Melsungen for the 2027/28 season, where he will succeed Roberto Garcia Parrondo, who will leave the northern Hessian club following its victory in the European League — the first title in the club's history. As Melsungen announced on Monday, Siewert has received a contract until 2030. Already in the coming season, he will support the club in an advisory capacity.
Siewert had led Füchse Berlin to the first championship in the club's history in the Handball Bundesliga in 2025. Prior to that, he had already won the European League with the Berliners. In the fall of 2025, the Füchse parted ways with Siewert and sporting director Stefan Kretzschmar following a publicly played-out dispute with managing director Bob Hanning. Two months after his dismissal, Siewert suffered a stroke, as he reported in March in an interview with the streaming service Dyn.
