Following the discovery of a body in a remote patch of forest in the upper Styrian Bretsteingraben in May 2025, the search for the man's identity is increasingly focusing on Germany, particularly the Bremen area.
Background of the case
In May 2025, the body was discovered and reported in a remote patch of forest near a wild animal feeding station in the upper Styrian Bretsteingraben (Murtal district). According to expert assessment, the man is believed to have died between 2014 and 2019. An anthropological report commissioned by the Leoben public prosecutor's office currently assumes a man aged between 40 and 60 with a height of approximately 1.60 to 1.70 metres.
