British developer Ninja Theory announced 'Senua,' a new entry in its Hellblade series, during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, with a release planned for 2027 on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
British developer Ninja Theory unveiled the next entry in its Hellblade universe at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. The new title is called Senua and is described by the studio as a standalone action-adventure rather than a classic sequel. A specific release date has not yet been announced, but the game is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
The story places Senua in a distorted vision of purgatory. Trapped between life and death, the Celtic warrior fights to reach the afterlife and reunite with the people she has lost. As in the previous entries, psychological themes, loss, grief, and the perception of reality play a central role in the narrative. According to Ninja Theory, newcomers will be able to follow the story without prior knowledge of the earlier games.
