The Nosferatu spider (Zoropsis spinimana) is now likely widespread across Germany, according to the nature conservation organization NABU, after an increasing number of sightings were reported from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Schleswig-Holstein in recent weeks.

The species is originally from the Mediterranean region and has been spreading rapidly in Germany since its first discovery in 2005, NABU announced.
