Schlager star Marina Marx falls off the stage on ZDF-Fernsehgarten and finishes her song barefoot

The 35-year-old, however, did not let the fall throw her off course. She sang the rest of the shared song with the 62-year-old Nino de Angelo barefoot, while he continued dancing on the stage.

Immediately after the end of the duet, de Angelo turned to his colleague and quipped: "Oh mein Gott, das war alles so geplant". He then asked concerned: "Marina? Alles okay?" Marina Marx replied that she had come through the fall okay, grabbed her discarded high heels and left the stage.

Host Andrea Kiewel embraced the principle of "The Show Must Go On" and did not address the incident further during the live broadcast. Instead, she went straight on to announce the next segment.

Marina Marx later reached out to her fans on Instagram. In a story, she wrote: "Ihr Lieben, mir geht's den Umständen entsprechend gut, alles okay. Macht euch keine Sorgen." She thanked the ZDF-Fernsehgarten team, which had looked after her "so lieb".

The singer, however, also hinted at injuries. In a further Instagram story, she wrote: "Mein Arm wird komplett blau und mir ist noch etwas schummrig." In a video, she also explained that the fall was not due to her shoes: "Da war ein Abgrund, ich habe so gefeiert auf der Bühne und dann bin ich da rübergetreten und runtergefallen."

ZDF shared a clip of the incident from the show, which Marina Marx also reposted. Alongside it, she wrote with a laughing emoji that the "Absturz" had fortunately only been "von der Bühne".

Colleagues from the Schlager world also reacted. Host Marijke Amado commented: "Auf einmal warst du nicht mehr da. Aber Profis singen einfach weiter. Hoffentlich hast du dir nicht weh getan. Sonst, gute Besserung aus Holland." Singer Annemarie Eilfeld wrote with a laughing emoji: "Hätte einfach auch ich sein können" and wished her "gute Besserung".

The ZDF-Fernsehgarten is produced on Mainz's Lerchenberg and is one of the high-reach entertainment shows in ZDF's early evening schedule. The incident occurred during the duet "Bella Italia è Amore", which Marx and de Angelo sang together on the open platform in front of the audience.
