Sony presented a series of new game titles in a State of Play broadcast on Tuesday evening, including "Marvel's Wolverine" from Insomniac Games, a new "God of War" spin-off, and a remake of the first "Tomb Raider" adventure.
The focus of the presentation was "Marvel's Wolverine," which is set to be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026. The game is being developed by Insomniac Games, which has been part of Sony since 2019. A new gameplay trailer showed, among other things, the character Jean Grey, who uses telekinetic abilities to immobilize enemies in the air and position them for Wolverine's finishing moves.
The plot revolves around Logan, who wants to free a group of kidnapped mutants from the clutches of a cybernetically enhanced mercenary group, the Reavers. The Reavers intend to deliver their captives to the industrialist Bolivar Trask. In this version of the Marvel universe, mutants live in hiding and are hunted or feared by large parts of society.
