Spielberg's "Disclosure Day" revisits motifs from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"

Noah Scanlon is portrayed by Colin Firth and is the puppet-master head of the Wardex Corporation, pursuing a plan to conceal aliens who have been held in secret archives since 1947. The aliens are held captive, hidden, and exploited for scientific experiments by a secret organization close to the Pentagon. Disclosure Day is not coincidentally named: the day of revelation.

Spielberg reaches deep into his own bag of tricks for the staging: he issues commands from control rooms as in "Minority Report" and stages chase sequences on trains in the best "Indiana Jones" manner. John Williams, Spielberg's longtime composer, contributes the soundtrack, drawing once again on the melody from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
