The United Nations presented their third World Ocean Report on Monday, in which 600 scientists from around the world describe the oceans as being in a "growing crisis" and urge "urgent action."

The third Ocean Report (WOA) of the United Nations, published on Monday, paints a bleak picture of the state of the oceans, which cover more than 70 percent of the Earth. Hundreds of experts from around the world explain in the more than 1,300-page report the consequences of climate change, environmental pollution, and overfishing and come to a clear verdict: the health of the seas is in grave danger. A report, five years of work

The oceans are in a "growing crisis" that, in the United Nations' assessment, requires "urgent action."
