Brandenburg's Minister President Dietmar Woidke (SPD) and Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) have presented possible sites for drone and aircraft testing in the region ahead of the opening of the ILA aerospace exhibition at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport.

ILA as a stage for aerospace

The International Aerospace Exhibition, known as ILA, is considered one of Europe's most important aerospace trade fairs. This year, according to the organizers, around 750 exhibitors from 37 countries will meet on the grounds at BER. The trade fair is organized by the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) together with Messe Berlin.

In terms of content, ILA is divided into three areas: aviation, space, and defense technology, known as DefTech. In addition to civilian aircraft and space projects, drones, military equipment, and security technologies will also be on display. The fair also sees itself as a political forum for the European aerospace industry.
