A 20-year-old Egyptian man was severely injured in a stabbing attack by unknown assailants in Innsbruck’s Höttinger Au district late Wednesday night, with the perpetrators fleeing the scene with the victim’s bag.

Attack Details and Victim's Condition

The assault occurred between 11:45 p.m. and 12:15 a.m. in the area of Nagillergasse and Ingenuin-Fischler-Straße, where witnesses reported a disturbance prior to the attack. The victim sustained multiple cut and stab wounds and was rushed to a local clinic for emergency surgery. Authorities confirmed he is now in stable condition.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, stated he was attacked by multiple individuals but could not provide a motive for the assault. The suspected weapon, believed to be a knife, has not yet been recovered. Police have launched an investigation into attempted murder and severe robbery, given that the attackers stole the victim’s bag before fleeing.
