ZURICH, May 2, 2026 Prix Walo marks 50 years honoring Swiss showbiz stars The Prix Walo, Switzerland’s most prestigious award for showbiz talent, celebrated its 50th anniversary this weekend, honoring legends and newcomers alike in a star-studded ceremony.
A Half-Century of Showbiz Excellence
Since 1974, the honorary association "Show Szene Schweiz" has awarded the Prix Walo, recognizing outstanding contributions to Swiss entertainment. The first recipient was Hazy Osterwald, a celebrated singer, musician, and orchestra leader. Over the decades, the awards have expanded, with additional categories introduced in 1994 to celebrate diverse talents across the industry.
This year’s ceremony was particularly poignant, marking five decades of celebrating Switzerland’s brightest stars. The event also paid tribute to the late Magrit Läubli, a 98-year-old comedian from the legendary ensemble Cornichon, who received a posthumous "In Memoriam" award.
Stars Shine Bright
Among this year’s winners was Linda Fäh, who expressed her gratitude on Instagram. She wrote that she was "unglaublich dankbar und voller Stolz, die Anerkennung für ihren 15-jährigen Musikweg» bekommen zu haben" ("incredibly grateful and full of pride to receive recognition for her 15-year musical journey").
