The 83rd edition of the Venice Film Festival is approaching and this year brings together a remarkable mix of established directors, Hollywood stars and musical guests on the Lido. A total of around 4,500 films were submitted for the new festival edition – including feature films, documentaries and short films, as festival director Alberto Barbera announced at the program presentation. Last year there had been around 4,200 productions, meaning the number of submissions has risen again.
