AdaptHealth Reports Q1 2026 Revenue Growth Amid Strategic Expansion

The transition to capitated agreements, where providers receive fixed payments per patient rather than fee-for-service reimbursements, has been a strategic focus. "We've successfully onboarded hundreds of thousands of active patients under this model," the company stated, noting that the new contract contributed 500 basis points to organic growth.

Operational Expansion and Cost Challenges

The quarter saw AdaptHealth establish 35 new locations and secure exclusive home medical equipment (HME) provider status for over 10 million additional members. However, the company faced $12 million in elevated labor expenses, including $8 million in variable costs to accelerate patient transitions and $4 million in higher wages and benefits.

These costs contributed to adjusted EBITDA of $121.2 million, which fell short of guidance. Company executives expect labor expenses to normalize by the end of Q2 2026. Despite these challenges, AdaptHealth refinanced its credit facility with improved terms, strengthening its balance sheet.

The Wellness at Home segment presented a mixed picture, with reported net revenue declining 10.3% but showing 11% organic growth after adjusting for dispositions. The company emphasized ongoing opportunities in sleep apnea treatment, noting that up to 80% of cases remain undiagnosed.

Looking ahead, AdaptHealth raised its full-year net revenue projections while maintaining adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow guidance for 2026.
