Reason and Trigger for the Capital Increase

Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, plans a capital increase of $80 billion (approximately 68.69 billion euros). According to the Mountain View-based company, the funds will be used to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure. The US conglomerate announced the plan on Monday.

According to the company, the decision is driven by a significant increase in demand for AI solutions. "The company is experiencing strong demand from businesses and consumers for its AI solutions and services to an extent that exceeds its available capacity," the company stated. This acknowledges that Alphabet's existing data centers and server capacities can no longer keep pace with the growth in the AI business.
