Anthropic has pledged to spend $200 billion on Google Cloud services over the next five years in one of the largest AI infrastructure deals to date, according to a report by The Information.

Massive Cloud Commitment

The $200 billion commitment positions Anthropic as a cornerstone client for Google Cloud, accounting for more than 40% of the tech giant’s revenue backlog. The deal underscores the soaring demand for AI computing power as companies race to secure capacity for training and running advanced models.

Anthropic’s agreement includes a multi-year partnership with Google and chipmaker Broadcom to secure multiple gigawatts of tensor processing unit (TPU) capacity. These specialized chips are critical for accelerating AI workloads, and the scale of the arrangement highlights Anthropic’s aggressive expansion plans.

Alphabet, Google’s parent company, is also investing up to $40 billion in Anthropic, further cementing the relationship between the two firms. The investment comes as Alphabet nears overtaking Nvidia as the world’s most valuable company, fueled by its dominance in cloud and AI infrastructure.
