An armed gang killed at least 42 people in an attack on the Kenscoff suburb roughly ten kilometers south of the capital Port-au-Prince, according to the mayor, Jean Massillon.

The attack took place in the Kenscoff suburb, located about ten kilometers south of the capital Port-au-Prince. According to the broadcaster Radio Télé Galaxie, citing Mayor Jean Massillon, at least 42 people were killed. According to the report, the figures came directly from the municipality and were confirmed by three sources.

Kenscoff lies in the mountainous region south of the Caribbean republic of Haiti and borders directly on the urban area of Port-au-Prince. In recent months, armed groups have repeatedly attacked suburbs of the capital, which is why the security situation in the greater Port-au-Prince area is considered extremely fragile. The mayor has not yet provided details on the attackers, their size, or any possible affiliation with a specific gang.
