Mödling District, August 5, 2026

Officers from the Tribuswinkel Highway Police Inspection Station stopped a 25-year-old late on Monday evening in Mödling District in Lower Austria who was racing through an 80 zone at 154 kilometers per hour.

According to police, the man was traveling at an extremely excessive speed on the A2 South Autobahn. Officers from the Tribuswinkel Highway Police Inspection Station were able to halt the vehicle in Mödling District and pull the driver out of traffic. The measured speed of 154 km/h was nearly twice the permitted maximum speed of 80 km/h.

The A2 South Autobahn is one of the most heavily traveled routes in Austria and runs through Mödling District south of Vienna. Speeding at this pace in a section limited to 80 km/h is classified as severe endangerment of traffic. Police assess the incident as a clear violation of the road traffic regulations.
