Atalanta Bergamo appoints Maurizio Sarri as new head coach

The club hopes the veteran's experience will bring about a return to former strength.

Atalanta finished the past season seventh in the Serie A table, which was at least enough to secure qualification for the Conference League. Nevertheless, those in charge accused Palladino of failing to deliver the desired upward sporting trend. The appointment of Sarri is now intended to turn the tide and lead the club back into the top group of Italian football.

With Sarri on the touchline, Atalanta wants to pick up where things left off in the successful era under Gian Piero Gasperini, who had celebrated Europa League triumph in 2023/24.
