Austria Salzburg beat Wacker Innsbruck 4:1 on Saturday in the 2nd division and overcame an injury to striker Florian Rieder in the process.

According to the club, Rieder broke his hand in the opening phase and was unable to continue playing. Salzburg responded to the loss with an offensive adjustment and dominated the game for long stretches. The team took their chances consistently and was rewarded for their courageous performance.

Deniz Kahrimanovic put the hosts ahead early. Christian Gebauer and Christian Huetz extended the lead before the break. After the restart, Salzburg scored the fourth goal and managed the result comfortably. Innsbruck's consolation goal came only late and changed nothing about the course of the match.
