Munich, June 12, 2026
FC Bayern München has won the first game of the best-of-five Finals series in the Basketball Bundesliga against Alba Berlin 102:94, securing a 1:0 lead in the series.
In front of 10,760 spectators at Munich's SAP Garden, an intense duel unfolded from the start. Alba Berlin, coached by Spanish head coach Pedro Calles, controlled almost the entire first half and led by as many as eight points (15:7 in the 15th minute). Only shortly before the break did the game turn: With a furious stretch, Bayern pulled slightly ahead, and at halftime the score stood at 58:55 for the home side.
Obst unstoppable after infection
The man of the evening was Andreas Obst. Bayern's sharpshooter had recovered in time from a serious infection and was available for the first Finals game. In the first half he hit five of six three-point attempts and all four two-point attempts, accounting for 24 points on his own. In the end he had 33 points to his name, once again underlining why he has been honored this season as league MVP as well as World and European champion.
