LONDON, April 24, 2026 The BBC has uncovered evidence that Jeffrey Epstein housed women allegedly abused by him in east London properties after UK police declined to investigate a 2015 allegation by Virginia Giuffre. A BBC Newsnight investigation has revealed that some of the women linked to Jeffrey Epstein were brought to the UK and housed in flats in east London following the Metropolitan Police’s decision not to pursue Giuffre’s claims. The findings shed new light on how Epstein’s network operated in London even after authorities were alerted to allegations against him.
Police Inaction and Its Consequences
The Metropolitan Police, also known as the Met, chose not to investigate Giuffre’s 2015 allegation, which accused Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell of sexual abuse. This decision allowed Epstein’s activities to continue unchecked in the UK, according to the BBC’s report. Some of the women allegedly victimized by Epstein were subsequently transported to London, where they were housed in properties linked to his network.
The BBC’s findings raise questions about whether earlier police action could have prevented further abuse. The Met’s failure to act on Giuffre’s complaint has drawn scrutiny, particularly as it preceded years of additional allegations against Epstein and Maxwell. The timing of the women’s arrival in London suggests that Epstein’s operations persisted in the UK despite growing international attention on his crimes.
