Brutal Robbery in Vienna-Favoriten: 30-Year-Old Injured with Knife, Two Arrests

The police were able to arrest two male suspects, aged 22 and 29, during the night. According to reports, a kitchen knife was seized from those arrested, which is believed to be the weapon used in the crime. The two men were reported on suspicion of aggravated robbery.

Investigations into the exact sequence of events and the amount of the stolen goods are ongoing. According to its own statements, the police are also examining the relationship between the suspects and between them and the victim. Citing the ongoing investigations, the police did not want to provide further details for the time being.

The incident is causing a stir in the Vienna district, as serious robberies involving knives are comparatively rarely documented publicly. Mundygasse is located in the densely built-up area around Quellenstraße. Local residents reported an increased police presence in the early morning hours on social media.

Investigations and Appeal to Witnesses

The responsible Vienna State Police Directorate announced that the case would be evaluated as part of ongoing focal points for combating street crime. Among other things, it is being examined whether those arrested may be connected to similar offenses in the district.

The police accept tips from the public through the usual channels. Investigators are particularly asking anyone who made suspicious observations around 3:45 a.m. on the night leading into Friday in Mundygasse or in the vicinity of Quellenstraße to come forward.
