Canadian football pro Ismael Koné suffered a broken leg during Canada's 6-0 win against Qatar and was subsequently celebrated by fans in the stadium in a wheelchair.

The midfielder was seriously injured after being fouled by Qatar's Assim Madibo. Teammates immediately surrounded him and formed a screen while medical personnel rushed to help. According to reports, Stephen Eustáquio was the first to reach Koné and immediately recognized the severity of the injury.

Jesse Marsch stated after the match that the sound of the breaking bone had been clearly audible all the way to the substitutes' bench. He described the scene as a shocking moment for the entire team. "Heart of the team," Marsch said about Koné, emphasizing that the player does special things on the pitch that no one else can.
