Car crashes into group of people in Neustadt – Investigations underway

Following the collision with the group of people, there were injuries from the car. Initially, no further confirmed information was available about those affected, the exact sequence of the accident, or the condition of the injured. The circumstances that led to the vehicle driving into the group were also not yet fully clarified.

Investigations continued on the morning of October 27, 2026. According to the spokesperson, the securing of evidence continued in order to examine the vehicle, the accident site, and the traces at the scene. No further findings were known at that time.

Investigations and securing of evidence

After the incident, several roads in the surrounding area were cordoned off at the scene. The locations mentioned included the shooting range, Mecklenhorster Straße, Ludwig-Enneccerus-Platz, and Hannoversche Straße. The named locations mark the area in which the police carried out their operations, without a precise sequence of the accident yet being deduced from them.

The police investigated the incident on site. According to officers, they were already in the vicinity for that reason because they were conducting a traffic stop with uninvolved parties. As the spokesperson reported, this allowed them to witness the incident directly shortly before midnight.

“A traffic stop with uninvolved parties was underway near the scene at the shooting range in Neustadt, so the officers witnessed the incident directly shortly before midnight,” the spokesperson said. This statement makes clear that the police became aware of the collision not through an emergency call, but during an operation that was already underway.

After the accident, the police work was the focus. “The investigations are continuing, and the securing of evidence is also ongoing,” the spokesperson explained. As a result, the case remained open on the morning of the incident; there was yet no final assessment of the cause or an official result.

Police were immediately at the scene

The analysis of the evidence secured is central to further investigation. This includes the technical examination of the vehicle and the careful documentation of the various traces at the accident site. As long as this work continues, it remains unclear how the collision with the group of people occurred.

The authorities said that police officers secured the shooting range and the adjacent road areas on site, among other things. The ongoing securing of evidence is intended to yield further insights into the sequence of the accident. No further reliable information was initially published.

The incident also demonstrates how important a quick, direct response by emergency services is. In this case, the officers were already in the immediate vicinity when the vehicle drove into the group of people. The continuing investigations are now expected to clarify which factors led to the incident.

Open questions about the sequence of the accident

Until the investigations are concluded, the number of injured people, their injuries, and the cause of the incident remain the subject of ongoing investigations. The police responsible announced on the morning of the 27th that both the further investigations and the securing of evidence would continue. Further information was expected later.
