The seventh round of collective agreement negotiations for the Austrian chemical industry, covering around 50,000 employees, was interrupted after 14 hours without a result. The PRO-GE and GPA unions announced expanded strikes.

Background: Dispute Over Wage Agreement

The negotiations began on Tuesday morning and lasted for a total of 14 hours before being interrupted on Wednesday night. A new negotiation date has not yet been set. The PRO-GE and GPA unions subsequently announced that strikes would be significantly expanded starting next week. Temporary work stoppages of up to eight hours are planned in the industry's companies.
