A court in Nice on Wednesday convicted two men in connection with the death of French streamer Jean Pormanove, handing down suspended sentences, including for aggravated assault as well as incitement to hatred, online violence, and discrimination.

The trial took place on Wednesday at the criminal court in Nice and has been making headlines in France for weeks. At the center is the death of streamer Jean Pormanove, also known by the abbreviation JP, whose life had been publicly documented over a long period by his associates. According to the court, two men bear criminal responsibility for the abuse to which JP was repeatedly subjected in his broadcasts.
