Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway has been discharged from hospital roughly four weeks after undergoing a lung transplant and is now with her family for further recovery.
Statement from the Royal House
The Norwegian royal house announced in Oslo on Tuesday that the 52-year-old had been able to leave the clinic. In the official statement, her condition was described as good given the circumstances. The operation itself took place approximately four weeks ago.
Crown Prince Haakon expressed relief at his wife's discharge. He said he knew that the recovery would still take a long time, but that it was a very good feeling to have come this far. He also said that he had „Ein sehr gutes Gefühl" about his wife being able to take this step.
