Renowned director Darren Aronofsky will receive the Pardo d'Onore at the 79th Locarno Film Festival on August 14. The award ceremony will take place on the Piazza Grande, as confirmed by the festival.

Darren Aronofsky, known for films such as "The Whale" and "Black Swan," is being honored for his longstanding contributions to cinema. For over a quarter of a century, he has shaped the industry with works that often explore the extremes of faith, desire, and obsession.

His achievements include winning the Best Director award at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival for "Pi" and the Golden Lion at Venice in 2008 for "The Wrestler." Despite controversial projects like "Mother!," which was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award in 2018, Aronofsky remains a defining figure in contemporary film.
