Stuttgart, 30 May 2026
VfB Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav has agreed to a contract extension with the Bundesliga club just before departing for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
According to reports from Sky and Bild, the 29-year-old has extended his deal, which was originally set to expire in 2027, by an additional two years. The agreement was reached before the national team's scheduled departure for the tournament.
Undav had publicly set a deadline for the negotiations, wanting clarity about his club future before focusing entirely on the World Cup. 'It was important to me to have certainty before the tournament starts,' he had recently stated.
Contract Details and Deadline Met
The new contract reportedly includes a significant salary increase. Undav's earnings are set to rise from an alleged 4.5 million euros to up to 6 million euros per season. Additionally, a one-time payment in the low single-digit million euro range is included upon signing.
