TSV 1860 München will host second-division side Holstein Kiel in the DFB-Pokal round of 16.

The DFB-Pokal draw handed TSV 1860 München a home fixture against Holstein Kiel. This means the round of 16 will pit a third-division side from Bavaria against an ambitious second-division side from Schleswig-Holstein.

The Munich Lions had advanced past higher-ranked opponents in the previous rounds and go into the match against Kiel as underdogs as well. The club from Kiel plays in the 2. Bundesliga and has more top-flight experience in its squad than TSV 1860.

Deniz with long-range efforts

In Munich's previous cup assignments, midfielder Tunay Deniz stood out with long-range shots. As the match data show, his two spectacular efforts from more than 50 metres (27th minute) and from around 40 metres (37th minute) were not accurate enough, however. The balls missed the goal but remained noted as notable moments in the match report.
