Munich, 23 August 2026

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that talks about a contract extension for Harry Kane at FC Bayern Munich have begun.

Background on the transfer

In an interview with broadcaster Sky, Eberl confirmed that the club has sat down at the negotiating table with Kane. "It would be my first extension at FC Bayern. I have always said that I want to do my job, that I want to do a good job. And then, when you are satisfied, they will come to me. Let's see what happens on Tuesday," Eberl said.

Kane moved to FC Bayern from English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023. In his first three seasons, the striker established himself as a key performer and was among the Bundesliga's leading goalscorers.

Eberl, who has been sporting director at FC Bayern since February 2024, stressed that he first wanted to do his work. Those responsible would come to him "when you are satisfied."
