A new collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry was reached in the fifth round of negotiations on Thursday evening, bringing an end to the threat of a strike.
The agreement, which was reached after five rounds of negotiations, includes a wage increase of 1.85 percent plus 22 euros, as well as additional benefits such as health days for older employees and care leave for parents of children with disabilities.
The employers, represented by the WKO trade association for the electrical and electronics industry (FEEI), had proposed a 1 percent wage and salary increase during negotiations, but the unions had demanded a 3.5 percent increase.
Background
The agreement also includes an increase in the allowances for the second and third shifts, which will be raised over three years by 47 cents to 1.50 euros per hour.
