England plays the World Cup round of 16 against DR Congo on Wednesday in Atlanta, in the first meeting between the two national teams ever.

The match in Atlanta marks the start of the knockout phase of this year's World Cup for England. For DR Congo, it is only their second World Cup appearance ever, after their participation in 1974 under the name Zaire. Coach Thomas Tuchel and his team enter the duel as clear favorites based on their tournament performances so far.

The opponent is waiting for the biggest upset in their history. DR Congo qualified for the tournament in the USA, Spain, and other host countries through the African qualifiers and is the underdog in Atlanta. The team can count on a growing fan base and the support of numerous Congolese living in the USA.
