Left parliamentary group leader Elif Eralp rejected a possible government program involving the SPD, Greens and Left in Berlin on Sunday and called for it to be halted.

Elif Eralp, leader of the Left’s parliamentary group in Berlin, spoke out against a possible coalition of the SPD, Greens and Left on Sunday. She advocated against adopting such a program, the politician said ahead of a meeting of her parliamentary group. According to the Left, the project in Berlin was a reason for public disputes both within and outside the parties.

A report by “Der Spiegel” had previously caused unrest. According to the report, Eralp considers her family’s safety to be in danger if she publicly comments on a well-known Palestinian activist. Emde and other Left members explicitly support the activist, according to the report. Eralp herself did not raise the issue in her speech.
