Wolfsburg, 09 July 2026
The Danish football professional Christian Eriksen has begun an individual rehabilitation program in his homeland Denmark roughly one month after his renewed collapse, as his club VfL Wolfsburg announced on Thursday.
The 34-year-old had collapsed on the pitch on 7 June during the national team match against Ukraine. The German second-division club Wolfsburg stated at the time that the incident had made immediate medical care necessary. Even though Eriksen was conscious again quickly this time and was even able to walk to an ambulance on his own, memories of Euro 2021 in Copenhagen immediately resurfaced, when he had suffered a cardiac arrest during a match.
