After seven sold-out event days, the Erste Bank Open in Vienna achieved a new attendance record.
The Erste Bank Open in Vienna concluded after seven sold-out days with a new attendance record. The success underscores the strong demand for the tennis tournament at the Austrian tennis center.
Tournament director Herwig Straka was satisfied with the result. He noted that further growth had been talked about for several years, but the tournament had exceeded that expectation every year.
Straka Reacts Calmly
“We were sold out for seven days,” Straka said, summarizing the course of the tournament. This meant that spectator capacity was fully utilized on all seven event days.
The record demand also prompted discussions about the further development of the Erste Bank Open. Gerda Holzinger-Burgstaller, CEO of Erste Bank Austria, raised the question of whether even greater capacity utilization was possible the following year.
