The European Union is planning a meeting with the Taliban de facto authorities in Brussels to negotiate the repatriation of Afghan nationals.

The talks between the EU and the Taliban come amid ongoing discussions about the deportation of Afghan migrants. EU representatives had already traveled to Kabul in January to establish initial contacts.
An EU spokesperson confirmed that a follow-up meeting at a technical level is now being planned in Brussels. "EU representatives had already traveled to Kabul for a meeting in January, and the EU is now working on 'a possible follow-up meeting at a technical level in Brussels with the de facto authorities in Afghanistan to continue these discussions,'" the spokesperson explained.
