Vienna, April 3, 2026 The far-right Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) has overwhelmingly driven parliamentary discussions on topics like "woke" culture, transgender issues, and gender-neutral language, according to recent data. The FPÖ issued 73% of all press releases mentioning "Frühsexualisierung" (early sexualization) in the last three years and accounted for 85% of all mentions of "trans" and "transgender" in the Austrian parliament. In 2025 alone, the party included the term "trans/transgender" 50 times in its proposals—four times more than all other parties combined. The party also dominates discourse on "woke" topics, responsible for 95% of mentions in parliamentary statements since 2023 and 60 out of 70 uses of the term in the legislature. Additionally, the FPÖ made 54% of all references to "Gendern" (gender-neutral language) in the past three years. Mario Lindner, a political commentator, noted the FPÖ's outsized focus on these issues. *"Die einzige Partei, die wirklich ständig vom Gendern, Trans und Woke-sein spricht, ist die FPÖ selbst. 5-6 Mal pro Woche, fast doppelt so oft wie alle anderen Parteien zusammen,"* he said.
