George Clooney has spoken out in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in favor of British actor Callum Turner as the next James Bond.

The Oscar winner pointed in the conversation above all to Turner's background and charisma. „Er ist groß, gutaussehend, charmant und Brite – also der perfekte Mann für diese Rolle“, said Clooney verbatim. Turner, who is 36 years old, had appeared alongside the Hollywood star in 2023 in the sports drama „Die Jungs im Boot", directed by Clooney.

Clooney also expressed the hope that Turner will indeed succeed the previous 007 actor. „Ich hoffe, dass Callum am Ende der nächste Bond wird. Ich glaube, er wäre ein großartiger Bond", he said. When the official casting will be announced, however, remains unclear.

Background: Five years without a successor

According to industry sources, the official search for the next Bond actor only began in May. The last film in the series, „No Time to Die" starring Daniel Craig, had hit theaters in 2021. This means that five years have now passed since Craig's departure without the production presenting a successor.
